Sky original A League of Their Own is back for the sixteenth series, and BAFTA award winner Romesh Ranganathan has signed a new deal to host the show.

Romesh takes over as the new host of the hugely successful original show for Sky One and streaming service NOW when it returns this August.

Filming starts on 5th July at Elstree Studios with a socially distanced studio audience. Longstanding team captains Freddie Flintoff and Jamie Redknapp return to go head-to-head again this summer. Guests this year include FA Cup winner Jamie Vardy, Olympic Gold Medallist Denise Lewis, and football pundit Micah Richards, with plenty more stars from the world of sports and entertainment to be announced.

Romesh has been a regular panellist on the show since 2018, and will bring more of his dry wit and deadpan takedowns to proceedings.

Romesh says: ‘I’m over the moon to be taking over the hosting duties and looking forward to being back in the studio with Jamie, Freddie, our guests and the live audience. I’m truly honoured to be the new host of such a successful show. I know Jamie and Freddie are delighted because they often talk about what a hero I am to both of them.’

The sixteenth series of A League of Their Own was commissioned by Zai Bennett, Managing Director of Content for Sky UK and Ireland and Phil Edgar-Jones, Director, Sky Arts and Head of Entertainment. The Commissioning Editor for Sky is Barbara Lee and the executive producers for CPL, a Red Arrow studios company, are David Taylor, Murray Boland and Danielle Lux. Jack Shillaker is producer.
