Charlie Baker’s versatile talents as a stand-up comedian, actor, and highly acclaimed jazz-singer have seen him earn a reputation as ‘a superior take on the modern showman’ (The Guardian). Baker has exercised his comedy chops with appearances on hit shows The Last Leg, Harry Hill’s Tea Time, Comedy Central at the Comedy Store, The Great British Bake-Off: An Extra Slice, Never Mind The Buzzcocks, Edinburgh Comedy Fest Live, The Dog Ate My Homework and Channel 4’s Comedy Gala.
Charlie Baker can also be seen in comic roles in a number TV series including Four Weddings and a Funeral, Back, The IT Crowd and Miranda, to name a few. As a talented actor, he has also starred in Vexed, Eastenders, Doctor Who and 2008 feature film The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas. Taking to the West End stage, Charlie starred in the hit musical I Can’t Sing, in which he played the hunchback with “a hilarious rap number” (The Telegraph). Baker’s versatility was showcased when he took to the floor for Let’s Dance for Comic Relief alongside Emmerdale’s James Thornton, winning the top spot with a spectacular tap routine and helping raise over one million pounds for Comic Relief.

An avid sports fan, Charlie can be heard on BBC 5Live’s Fighting Talk and covering on Talksport’s Hawkesbee & Jacobs Show, as well as hosting cult podcast The National Obsession, and has enjoyed regular appearances on shows The Football’s On and The Premier League Show.

Charlie is a staple act of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival since his debut solo hour in 2009 which won him the Mervyn Stutter Spirit of the Fringe Award. This led to sell-out runs with his hit shows Baker’s Dozen (2013), Just The One (2015) and The Hit Polisher (2017) which he then toured around the UK, and his 2018 show for the whole family The Greatest Goat Of All Time. Returning to his stand-up roots, Charlie will be taking his brand-new show Cream Before Jam on the road and festival circuit in 2021.
